What is Keystone Stars?

Keystone STARS is Pennsylvania's continuous quality improvement system for early care and learning and after school care. It is based on four STAR levels. Each STAR level designation has its own research- based performance standards. These standards measure three main area that make a difference in the quality of care your child receives:
•The Staff employed
•The environment your child is in every day
•The way a facility runs their business

At a Keystone STARS Facility You Can Count On:

A Department of Public Welfare Certificate of Compliance for Centers and Group Homes or registration for Family Day Care Homes
Music, art, science and play activities that increase school readiness
A Comfortable place where you child can explore and learn Your child feeling good about him/her self
